ISR refresher lessons in Helotes with Coach Glare
A child who learned the float last year is a different size this year. Refreshers keep the skills growing with them.
Why skills drift as the body grows
Refresher lessons are recommended as the child grows, and the reason is plain: a body that changes needs its in-water skills to change with it. The float a baby learned in Rollback to Float, or the swim sequence a toddler learned in Swim-Float-Swim, has to fit the bigger child who is now doing it.
ISR also says that between lessons children explore and can pick up habits that interfere, like floating in a bathtub or playing on the steps. Talking with your instructor shows you which activities may be working against what your child has learned.

What a refresher involves
It is the same one-on-one ISR format, with Coach Glare, in Helotes. Your child works with the person who already knows how they respond in the water, and fully clothed practice stays part of the picture once they are skilled.
ISR's enrollment fee for refresher classes is $35. It is non-refundable and paid to ISR, not to Glare, by PayPal, credit card or e-check. Registration starts with signing up online, and if no slots are open you can join the waitlist. Glare has not published how a refresher is scheduled for each age, so call her on (321) 662-3718 to ask.
When parents come back
Parents tell it better than we can. Kelli B. wrote on isrsanantonio.com, "We will be back each year for a refresher!" G DB wrote in a Google review, "We continue to come every season!"
George C. wrote that the family signed up to continue further instruction past their initial commitment. ISR's own advice is to contact or return to your instructor in a timely manner, because that is what keeps the habits effective.
"Absolutely love Coach Glare! Kate took lessons with her last summer and this summer. She has a way with the kids." Kristen, ISR client, on isrsanantonio.com.
